Comparative Analysis of Urban Heat Island Cooling Strategies According to Spatial and Temporal Conditions Using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAV) Observation

Heat island cooling strategies (HICSs) are used to mitigate urban heat phenomena and adapt climate change as proposed by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), World Health Organization (WHO). This study investigated reduction assessed effect of HICSs under various temporal spatial conditions in areas. The area was Mugye-dong South Korea. To identify effectiveness (HICSs), unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-based remote sensing microclimate sensors were generate land cover, sky view factor (SVF) distribution, surface temperature (LST) maps area. Differences according density (SD) identified dividing SVF into five intervals 0.2. Temporal changes throughout day cloudiness-based meteorological affected solar radiation or less radiation. Lower SD associated with a greater effect; had stronger effect. variation daytime increased decreasing SD. difference between morning afternoon <1 °C Under radiation, maximum temperatures −6.716 green spaces −4.292 shadow zones, whereas −6.814 ground-based albedo modification zones; thus, differences than As result, it found that HICS show high effect, diurnal variation, morning-afternoon deviation weather low quantitatively calculated applied areas spatiotemporal compared technology.
